Day Trip Longhouse & Tip of Borneo

Duration: Full Day

From Kota Kinabalu takes 3 hours drive through scenic countryside to the north of Kudat, passing views of paddy fields, villages, oil palm plantation, local stalls selling handicraft and food items. Rungus women still use a blackstrap handloom to weave their traditional attire made of cotton, which they grow themselves. Their dress is one of the more attractive among Sabah’s ethnic groups. Cottage industries included bee farms and gong making. Kudat’s newest attraction is Simpang Mengayau – the northernmost Tip of Borneo – which looks out over the South China Sea and Sulu Sea.
